I remember in 74, I was living in Monumental lodge, a cheap place in Jhochen tole, which became Freak street in the 80th because of the presence of so many hippies.
I took that picture from my window, that temple does not exist anymore. I used to live with 5 dollars a day, rice and dal in Yak and yeti restaurant next door. For breakfast, sliced bred, honey bought from mountain’s merchant and yogourt in raw clay bowl from locals. No tibetan tea at this period. Tibetan refugees were living far away in Jawalakel.
